What is Channeling?
"Channeling" is a psychic gift or ability to convey information from another being, spirit or entity through one's own voice and consciousness. The channeler is able to use his body and mind as an instrument of reception and transmission of information from another being or energy source. And just like a radio receiver and transmitter, a channeler is able to pick up and convey these signals as vibration and sound i.e. words and language. A channeler may convey this information through the spoken word or the written word. Channeled information can be spoken, written by hand, typed onto paper or even transmitted through the computer.
To be more technical, the thoughts (thought forms) from another being or sentient source are 'picked up' by the channeler as electromagnetic signals. These electromagnetic signals are, in turn, re-interpreted by the channeler's mind/brain system as vibration or sound patterns. These sound patterns are, in turn, interpreted as sound codes or language. The channeler, then, conveys these sound codes as spoken words or written words (depending on his/her inclination or ability). Thus, a channeler has the ability to "tune into" another's energy, by 'tuning into their thought forms, which in turn are translated into recognizable patterns (or "sound-codes") that we know of as language.
The information received can be the thoughts, feelings, perceptions and even the personality of another being or group of beings who are presently focused in this or other reality systems. These beings can be located within this space time system or within other systems or dimensions. They can come from the third dimension, for example, or they can come from the fourth, fifth or sixth dimensions. They can be located in this universe system or in another. They can be transmitting from a dimension of physicality or non-physicality. They can have material bodies or bodies of light and energy.
A channeler becomes a "voice", then, for other beings who normally cannot
transmit or convey their ideas, feelings or perceptions to us through conventional means.
These beings can hail from other worlds, star systems and universes as well as other
dimensions, reality systems and probabilities. As such, they can be extra-terrestrials,
"star-seeds", light beings, Ascended Masters, devas, elementals, Angels, group
consciousnesses and humans from other worlds. These beings may be connected or related to
the channeler in some way, be it a personality resonance or compatibility, past life
relationship or even a guide/mentorship connection.
Channeling is a phenomenon that has been known and written about since biblical times. Ancient prophets and seers were often channeling information from other realms. Many were known to receive messages from Angels, Masters and Saints. Others received direct knowledge from deceased relatives or ancestors. Some were known to speak "in tongues". (They may have been channeling information from alien or even celestial sources. ) Many prophets and seers were employed by kings and royalty. All were understood to be "touched by spirit" and enjoyed a certain social status.
One of the first well known American channelers of the 20th century was Edgar Cayce, commonly known as the "Sleeping Prophet. He was able to leave his body when lying down and allowed for another consciousness to temporarily enter his body and communicate spiritual information. This entity would often give medical advice and religious/historical information that originated from spiritual sources. These sources are known as the Akashic records. The readings given through Cayce, were extremely accurate and many prophesized the rediscovery of the ancient cavitations of Atlantis and Lemuria as well as the beginning of a new era of Peace and Love at the end of the twentieth century. The Association for Research and Enlightenment (A.R.E.) was founded by Cayce's descendents and is dedicated to preserving the Cayce readings and related material.
Since Edgar Cayce, there have been other well known individuals who channeled information from spiritual beings. Jane Roberts was an aspiring writer in the late 60's who, by chance, started working with the Ouija board and began communicating with a spiritual entity named SETH. SETH was a very advanced soul, quite gentle and wise, who (verbally) communicated, through Jane, volumes of information on the nature of reality, the structure of the universe and the nature of human consciousness. These communications are known as the SETH material and have been codified into a set of books. As of this date, there are twenty six books written (and published) by SETH and Jane. The two most well known books, from the Seth collection, are "Seth Speaks" and "The Nature of Personal Reality".
